As shown in the graph, the film was highlighted as having the largest participations over twenty-year period, while table tennis and musical perfomances exhibited an upward trend. In contrast, the number of residents joining amateur dramatics declined dramatically in this timeframe.
To begin with, the number of individuals attending film club was the highest with 65 people, compared to the others. Additionally, there was a significant increase in the participation of table tennis, starting at 15 people in the early 2000s, then overtook martial arts n 2015 and peaked at more than 50 people in 2020. The same was true for musical perfomances, which had no registrants in 2005 but gradually rose up to 15 participants after fifteen years.
Conversely, there was a substantial decline in the number of residents taking part in amateur dramatics, falling to below 10 people. Finally, though martial arts faced slight fluctuation in participation, the number remained relatively stable between 30 to 35 individuals.
Hi, Lilie! It has always been a great pleasure to read your sample essay! You help me a lot!! But I have a question: in the penultimate paragraph, there is a sentence that says ‘Since then, this activity saw a significant climb in participation, …’. Why ‘saw a significant climb’, rather than ‘had seen a significant climb’?
Your writing materials are very rich and inevitable for IELTS.
Hi! I think it is the *amateur dramatics that faced a decline, not table tennis as you wrote in your overview ^^
there is a mistake in the overview.Amateur dramatics has declined not table tennis.
