The graph shows the number of participants by activity at a certain social center in Melbourne of Australia from 2000 to 2020.

Overall, the film club stood out as having the largest number of attendees throughout the period. In addition, amateur dramatics was the only activity that saw a decline in popularity.

Attending the film club remained the most popular activity throughout the period, which consistently had 60 to 65 participants. The number of people taking part in martial arts also showed small changes, hovering around 35.

Table tennis attracted approximately 16 to 20 participants between 2000 and 2010. This number then soared to just over 50 in 2020, making table tennis the second most participated-in activity that year. Musical performances started having participants only after 2005. Since then, this activity saw a significant climb in participation, with roughly 12 people taking part in 2010, although the increase slowed down to roughly 16 participants in 2020.

In comparison, amateur dramatics participation experienced a substantial drop from 25 participants in 2000 to only 6 in 2020, with only a slight rise in 2005. (182 Words)

  1. Hi, Lilie! It has always been a great pleasure to read your sample essay! You help me a lot!! But I have a question: in the penultimate paragraph, there is a sentence that says ‘Since then, this activity saw a significant climb in participation, …’. Why ‘saw a significant climb’, rather than ‘had seen a significant climb’?

  2. Hi! I think it is the *amateur dramatics that faced a decline, not table tennis as you wrote in your overview ^^
